Stella Star of the Month: Justin Cruz

Every month, Stella Connect recognizes one of our outstanding team members for raising the bar in their role. This month we applaud Justin Cruz, one of our Senior Client Success Managers, for all he’s done to support our clients during this challenging time. Justin has been an essential part of Stella Connect’s Client Services team since he joined in 2015 and has played an integral role in building out the systems and processes that help us provide exceptional service to our clients. We sat down (virtually) with Justin to learn more about what motivates him and how he sees Stella’s core values play out in his day-to-day role. 

 

What’s your favorite part about your job?

Problem solving, strategizing, and providing solutions to both my team and clients keeps me motivated and inspired on a daily basis. I also love the people I get to work with. Stella has cultivated a team of dedicated professionals and all around awesome humans who teach me something new every day. We also have built a strong community of clients that make each interaction fulfilling and enjoyable. 

 

What Stella Connect core value resonates the most with you?

‘One Team, One Mission.” Although everybody has different responsibilities based on their role, our mission is to provide the best service and product we can. My background playing baseball provided me with a strong team mentality and that fits well with my role as a Client Success Manager. Ultimately, we all have the unified goal to make Stella Connect the best it can be and through that journey, everybody learns from, and depends on, each other to get the job done. 

 

What’s one thing you’ve found inspiring recently?

I recently watched ESPN’s “The Last Dance”. Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls were a huge part of my life growing up. It was inspiring to see MJ go in-depth about his passion to win championships. He knew every player was important to the team’s success, which I think ties very nicely to our ‘One Team One Mission’ core value. 

 

What’s one thing you’re looking forward to? 

One of my biggest learnings during this quarantine has been to not take life for granted. I miss little things like seeing my colleagues face-to-face everyday, being in a shared space, and even just having lunch together. I can’t wait for that first end-of-the-week Happy Hour and to get to laugh and celebrate with my colleagues. Until then, I will continue to enjoy this time with my family and of course my french bulldog, Chief.
